Why follow Jesus? A question we’ve asked several times in this study. Is it worth the sacrifice or cost? Are we in it for the reward or is there an even greater reason for become and remain his disciples? There is nothing we have to offer God yet, we sometimes may say something like this: “God, if you will do ___________ then I will do _________”. We may think we have something to offer God or are in a position where we can bargain with Him. Obviously the truth is that we have nothing to offer Him and yet he desires that we give ourselves to Him. What is truly amazing is that God not only wants to bless us with eternal life with Him but also wants to bless us in this life now. Today we will look at several passages in which Jesus speaks of the blessings received when choosing to follow Him.
Questions To Consider
1) What do you believe to be the greatest blessing of or from God?
2) On what basis does Jesus have the right to ask “everything” of us?
3) Is Luke 12:33 an absolute command for all time, or is it a principle that can be followed even without literal obedience?
4) In what way has fellowship with God brought blessings to your life?
5) Besides the examples of Peter and John, how do you see the themes of discipleship demonstrated in Acts?

ReplyDeleteI Was viewing a video I bought some time ago
called "Be Still and know that I am God"
and some how I ended up seeing:
Luke 7:13- When the LORD saw her, HIS HEART went up to her and He said "Don't Cry".
I don't remember if the verse is in there or not but The Word "Lord" Captured my attention
profoundly! I realized the Word Jesus was not used here, Instead it says "Lord". and like i said it captured me .
Even though I know Jesus and God are one, but still to use the word Lord here is so powerful to me.
I can see deep in my self or my soul that God
Really does feel our pains. And it made me cry and I can't stop. God's Love is so wonderful and powerful. I wish this moment I feel right now could last forever.
To feel God's love is so overwhelming you can hardly breath.
Jesus In order to complete His Mission had to be Self-Controlled.
Control his carnal appetites and also control
his Spiritual Powers.
The bible says "God is Love".
This he also had to control.
But here, it says "His Heart Went out To Her"
and he said "Don't Cry".
Because his Love is so Great
this also has to be Controlled for "That Day"
Can you Imagine How wonderful it will be when
all His Glory and Love is Manifested!
How Can this not bring you to your Knees.
Thenk you Lord for always giving me so much more then i ask for!!!
Striving towards the Goal,
In His Name, Love J.C.
